- Ruo Ruo steps out. Wan Er and Ling Er believe Fan Xian is in the other carriage. Ling Er asks Fan Xian to step out. Ruo Ruo pretends Fan Xian is sick but Wan Er insists on talking to him. Si Zhe speaks from inside the carriage and pretends there’s another lady in the carriage. Wan Er and Ling Er leave.
The Overwatch Council
- Fan Xian arrives to the Overwatch Council. No one pays attention to him until he shows them his director badge.
- Wan Er and Ling Er get a bad impression on Fan Xian. They find out he will attend Jing Wang Shi Zi’s poetry society.
- Fan Xian is brought to the secretary of the Council. Turns out, it’s Wang Qi Nian. Wang Qi Nian apologizes to Fan Xian and explains he only tricks people because his daughter is sick. Turns out, this is a lie too. Fan Xian asks for Paper 534. Wang Qi Nian agrees to find it and deliver it tomorrow. Fan Xian asks who tried to assassinate him in Dan Zhou.
- After, Fan Xian looks at his mother’s inscription outside. It details her views on the world and how to create a fair and peaceful world. She hopes there will be a day when everyone can be equals.
The Emperor’s Cunningness
- The Emperor knows Fan Xian went to the Council secretly to ask for the paper. He also gets updates on his sons.
- The Crown Prince wants to ruin Fan Xian’s reputation so he can’t marry Wan Er. This is the suggestion from Li Yun Rei. He knows Fan Xian has never had good education and wants Guo Bao Kun to beat Fan Xian at the poetry society.
- The Prime Minster, Lin Ruo Fu, Wan Er’s father visits the Emperor. The Emperor cranks up the heat. They talk about Fan Xian. Lin Ruo Fu trusts the Emperor would not have chosen the wrong person for Wan Er. He quickly leaves due to the heat.
- Fan Xian only wants to go to the poetry society to find his chicken leg girl. He tells Ruo Ruo about her. Ruo Ruo agrees to help. Fan Xian wonders if fate is such and his chicken leg girl is Lin Wan Er.
Fan Xian Speaks Up For Si Zhe
- Teng Zi Jing is taken by Fan Jian. Si Zhe is also punished because Fan Jian thinks he caused the rift between Fan Xian and Guo Bao Kun. Fan Xian speaks up for Si Zhe and believes Si Zhe isn’t capable of something so complicated. Liu Ru Yu listens outside.
- Fan Xian tells Fan Jian to apologize to Si Zhe. Si Zhe only wants to make money to impress his father. Fan Jian tells Si Zhe to stop kneeling and grants him one wish. Si Zhe wants to gamble and play pai gow. Fan Jian agrees.
