- Yu Chu runs into one of the old Yan Shi Fan members. He tells her it’s already on paper that she’ll join.
- The trainees do combat fighting. Yu Chu beats Si San. A Yi fights against Meng Gou and wins. After, A Yi fights the teacher and takes out his knives. He loses. The teacher likes his ruthlessness and announces A Yi is the only one that passes.
Chong Li Ming & Yu Chu Bicker
- Yu Chu finds Chong Li Ming and tries to bring him back to Yan Shi Fan. Fang Er yells at Yu Chu for trying to take him, thinking she’s also a prostitute. Yu Chu shoots at everything and he goes back with her.
- Chong Li Ming and Yu Chu compete at shooting. Yu Chu loses.
- Chong Li Ming heads out to Shanglin Xianguan. There are no customers. Yu Chu has gotten the infantry to close the place down.
- Yu Chu continues to train but can’t seem to beat Chong Li Ming’ record. Chong Li Ming comes and angrily asks why she closed Shanglin Xianguan. She fires at him and he leaves.
- Fang Er shows her brother, Xiao He their new home. Her brother thinks Chong Li Ming bought this house to use her. He asks for money and she gets angry he went gambling again.
- Xiao He leaves and encounters Qing Bang members. They want him to pay up. They fight and Xiao He wins, clearing his debt.
Chong Li Ming Investigates
- Chong Li Ming talks to Eunuch Wang who works in the palace kitchen. He asks what the Emperor ate the day he died. He questions many servants and found Eunuch Dong was in charge of one item. Eunuch Dong has been kicked out of the palace for half a month now.
- The servants tell Chong Li Ming Eunuch Dong introduced a Western product to the Empress Dowager to help her sickness. It’s called Wang You Jie. Si San comes and brings Li Ming back to Yan Shi Fan.
- Yu Chu shoots and has beaten Chong Li Ming’s record. Chong Li Ming makes Yu Chu’s record the new record for the trainees.
- Chong Li Ming finds De Qi Wang Ye to talk about Wang You Jie. They decide to investigate and determine if it had poison.
The Trainees’ Mission
- Chong Li Ming tells the trainees to grab a safe before sunrise. It’s at Shanglin Xianguan.
- Chong Li Ming tells De Qi Wang Ye they’ll have the safe tomorrow. De Qi tells him about Eunuch Dong’s hometown.
- The trainees look for the safe. Yang Zhen looks at Fang Er while she sleeps. A Yi discovers the safe behind a buddha.
