- More Qing Bang members come to fight A Yi. Yu Chu steps in to help him. Chong Li Ming comes in with Shen Ji Ying soldiers. Chong Li Ming gets his soldiers to search the place.
A Yi Joins Yan Shi Fan
- A Yi asks Chong Li Ming for help in finding Da Sha. He agrees. Chong Li Ming wants him to join Yan Shi Fan.
- Chong Li Ming shows A Yi a report about the village attack. It was Yang Ming, previous leader of Yan Shi Fan who led the attack, looking for a 7/8 year old child. Chong Li Ming tells him he also wants to kill the old members of Yan Shi Fan. A Yi agrees to help him in his revenge.
- Zhe Yu Wang Ye wants Yu Chu to join Yan Shi Fan. He wants her to be his eyes and ears on Yan Shi Fan and Chong Li Ming.
Yu Chu Joins Yan Shi Fan
- Chong Li Ming brings A Yi to join the rest of the boys. Rui Zhen arrives. It’s an order from Empress Dowager to reshuffle Yan Shi Fan, not reorganize. The addition is to be Yu Chu.
- Chong Li Ming tells Yu Chu she can’t join because she’s a female. He and Rui Zhen have a show down. Chong Li Ming tells everyone will be part of a one month training and only the best one will join. Yu Chu agrees.
- Everyone stays in the same dorms during their test. Yu Chu and Meng Gou get into an argument.
- Qing Bang members attack a carriage at night. The Crown Prince runs away.
The First Test
- People come attack the Yan Shi Fan trainees at night. They fend off the attackers. Yu Chu stays behind to help Meng Gou. They run out the exit and meet Chong Li Ming, it was a test.
- Chong Li Ming tells them only two passed – A Yi for finding the exit and Yu Chu for helping someone else.
- Yu Chu bickers with Chong Li Ming. The guys who failed the test undergo physical punishment.
- Chong Li Ming meets with Eunuch Liu. He gives Chong Li Ming a report from the imperial palace.
- Lian Ye from Qing Bang searches for the missing Crown Prince. He tells his servant to hide the ledger. Hua Jiu Qing, the Crown Prince faints in a field and is discovered by someone.
Yan Shi Fan Training
- The trainees learn about weapons, human acupuncture, and other classes.
- Chong Li Ming stays with Fang Er and reads the living registration he got from the Eunuch. It details everything relating to the Emperor’s diet and activities. He gives Fang Er a house.
- A Yi and Yu Chu butt heads with the other trainees.
- Hua Jiu Qing wakes up locked to a chair. The servant calls her Empress Dowager.
