Summary
R1SE meets with BMX riders, and they turn from strangers to good friends. The eleven boys are challenged by BMX but are full of energy. They ride BMX on the streets of Shanghai and look at urban life from another perspective. Through this experience, R1SE is able to deepen their understanding of street culture.
Recap
- The members arrive in Shanghai and meet with BMX riders. The riders’ leader, Sun Yue, has some bias towards idol boy groups. They do an initial battle – Xia Zhi Guang dances and Zhang Yan Qi raps.
- After, they head to their accommodations, a hostel. They learn to adjust to living in such a small space.
- The next day Zhou Zhen Nan joins the group. They head to the park to begin their first lesson.
- They first build their own bikes. Based on height and size, the riders match them to the proper bike frame.
- They split up into three groups. After an hour, each group will send out a member to battle. They fall a lot during practice, but get up each time to keep going. Sun Yue is surprised.
- Yao Chen, Yan Xu Jia, He Luo Luo compete through the bike course. Luo Luo wins with 16:46. Everyone tries out the ramp and competes on who can jump the furthest. Ren Hao wins.
- They for dinner and eat noodles and dumplings. They chat about their careers and asirations.
- The next day they head out to the streets to bike and experience Shanghai life.
- BMX has helped R1SE learn how to live freely without worry, to keep moving forward and to sometimes just take a leap.
