UPDATE: I Didn’t Watch Eps 45-55
I stopped watching Novoland: Eagle Flag after episode 44, you can find my reasons why here. Essentially, the drama just wasn’t doing it for me. It wasn’t exciting, there was too much talking, and the storyline didn’t make sense to me. The drama got messier as it progressed. Here are some of the key events that happened between the episodes that I didn’t watch:
- Yu Ran and Ji Ye part ways and don’t end up together. Yu Ran takes her place as Ji Wu Shen, protector of the Bird Tribe.
- Bai Li Jing Hong tries to kill Gui Chen. Ji Ye comes save him and Bai Li Jing Hong ends up dying.
- Gui Chen has to head home to Qing Yang to save his tribe. He transfer his Tian Qu leader to Ji Ye.
- Gui Chen and Xiao Zhou break up because he leaves.
- Xiao Zhou overthrows her aunt and becomes the new Queen. She is actually the illegitimate child between her mother and Bai Yi. Ning Qin helps her get the throne and becomes Xia Tang’s new ruler.
- Lei Bi Cheng didn’t die??
That basically sums up the key takeaways over 10+ episodes. I then decided to watch the finale episode to get my resolution for the series. Below is the Novoland Eagle Flag Episode 56 recap:

- An internal power struggle occurs in Bei Du City. Some of the tribe leaders have sided with the Wolf Tribe.
- They prepare to kill the current leader, Gui Chen’s third brother. Gui Mo (a loyal brother to the third brother) dies. He kills everyone who attacked him.
- Gui Chen visits Su Ma in jail. She tells him she was healed by Lei Bi Cheng and his third brother has also joined with Chen Yue.
- Gui Chen finds his brother and tells him to give up the throne. Chen Yue attack Gui Chen. His brother kills himself and tells Gui Chen he’s won.
- Gui Chen tells the tribe to stop fighting. The fight is over.
- Su Ma asks Gui Chen why he doesn’t kill her. So many people have died because of her. Gui Chen will help her escape.
- Gui Chen discusses what to do. Outside of Bei Du Cheng there are enemies and within there is turmoil.
- Gui Chen imagines chatting with He Sa. He thinks about his dad. He talks about Ji Ye, Yu Ran, and Xiao Zhou and misses all of them.
- The Qing Yang tribe celebrates and remembers their lost ones. Gui Chen tells the tribe to face their enemies outside and live on. Tian Qu shall live on.
- The next day they prepare for battle. They face the Wolf King and his tribe. Gui Chen sees Ji Ye and Tian Qu. They rush forth to fight.
