Plot Synopsis:
In 2008, 19-year-old girl from a small village, Liu Wen Jing, heads to Shanghai alone. She meets a group of youth who are also struggling in the big city, and becomes friends with Hua Hua, Wei Wei, Xing Tian Ming, Qiao Hai Feng, and Yan Liang Kun.
Liu Wen Jing is smart and diligent. With the help of Xing Tian Ming and self-study she enters university and also earns her very first paycheque by finding a job selling wine.
However, her hometown’s frail parents forces her to work hard for money, and she is deceived several times. Thanks to the help of friends, she is able to escape.
After getting acquainted with Ye Hui, a rich boyfriend, Liu Wen Jing’s inferiority and vanity become magnified. She pretends to do business in the name of Ye Hui but secretly wanted to make a fortune for herself.
This incident not only causes Ye Hui to break up with her, but also sends Xing Tian Ming, who helped her out of trust, to jail. What’s worse, when she becomes desperate, her mother dies because of the inability to pay for medical expenses.
Liu Wen Jing eventually realizes that a truly happy life is to fight for ideals like friends. She decides to mend her mistakes and start all over.
