Once Upon A Time In Lingjian Mountain 从前有座灵剑山 is a 2019 37-episode Chinese drama series starring Xu Kai and Zhang Rong Rong. It is a love story between teacher and disciple, as Xu Kai’s character, Wang Lu, comes to study at the Spirit Blade Sect under the wise and beautiful Wang Wu. He seeks immortal cultivation and finds love along the way.
I couldn’t get myself to watch this as I didn’t really like watching Zhang Rong Rong. There’s something about her that’s displeasing to the eye? LOL. It also doesn’t seem to be your typical xianxia as it’s quite comical and full of funny moments and awkwardness. Others had good things to say about it and really liked them as a CP! What did you think?

On phone I only see two songs posted. I was hoping to see more as I’m trying to find some of the full fight scene songs, even though they only play for a few seconds at a time.
The official drama only listed out the two songs, if they release a full OST maybe they’ll show more, hope that helps 🙂
I really enjoyed watching “Once upon a time in Lingjian Mountain.” The actors acting are excellent. Their non-verbal communication in portraying their respective roles are awesome. They can be outrageous at times but that is what being called for in order to convey the character’s feelings and comedy acts. It’s not over the top , it’s just right for the story unfolding to the viewers. For me, in all the comedies i have watched on screen whether it for movies or tv series, i like this one the most. Sandrine Pinna is the best choice as a hundred of years old master of Xu Kai’s wang lu. Xu Kai did justice to wang lu’s character. Every actors in this tv series are really good. It’s is different but very very entertaining. For me i would rate this 10/10. Job well done for the casts and the people behind the scenes who made this possible.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Once Upon A Time in Lingjian Mountain! There was a lot of hype around it when it aired, and I can believe Xu Kai was a great choice as male lead. I was a little hesitant to watch because I felt Sandrine didn’t match Xu Kai well. I’ve put this drama on my backburner when I have nothing to watch! 🙂
