Summary: The Chinese drama is adapted from a novel of the same name by Xian Cheng. Plot Synoposis:
Five years ago, Xia Ran Ran is an ugly duckling who cases after Lin Xiang An. At the same time Lin Xiang An only has eyes for Su Mo.
Five years later, Xia Ran Ran becomes Shao Ming Zhe’s righteous fiancée, and Su Mo becomes Shao Ming Zhe’s ex-girlfriend.
Xia Ran Ran never expected meeting Lin Xiang An again. Time had passed, but his memory seemed to remain in place.
Can she erase him from her heart? She and Shao Ming Zhe are together, but it is only out of family obligation. They have always been with each other, but never truly loved each other.
He has always been gentle and affectionate, but is that enough? Love is like a poppy, breathtakingly beautiful, but deadly.

Lu Yi 陆毅 as Shao Ming Zhe 邵铭哲
The third generation of Shaw Group, he lost his father when he was young. His cousins compete with him to be heir. Ming Zhe is young and promising, and starts a company by himself. Once young and frivolous, he loved Su Mo and fought against her family, and later marries Xia Ran Ran.
Li Yi Tong 李一桐 as Xia Ran Ran 夏苒苒
The daughter of the Xia family in name only. Father Xia Hong Yuan is a nouveau riche and her mother, Ms. Han comes from a scholarly family. Ran Ran’s marriage breaks down when she was a child, which leads to her lack of warmth, perverse and rebellious personality. Later, in order to please her father, she marries Shao Ming Zhe and finally falls in love with him.

Shi Shi 施诗 as Su Mo 苏陌
She is clever and beautiful, and looked up to at school. She was with Shao Ming Yuan, was Shao Ming Zhe’s first love, and holds Lin Xiang An’s affection. When she was in college, she was forced to leave the country by the Shao family, and later finds out that she is pregnant and gives birth to a daughter. Later, her daughter falls seriously ill and she deceives Shao Ming Zhe by telling him it is his child. The news destroys the marriage between Shao Ming Zhe and Xia Ran Ran, when truthfully it was Shao Ming Yuan’s child.
Song Chen 宋晨 as Lin Xiang An 林向安
The son of the Secretary of Planning. He is smart, cheerful, and handsome, and loves Su Mo. He was Xia Ran Ran’s crush since high school. Ran Ran pursues him for two and a half years and he finally gives in. Later, Lin Xiang An couldn’t let Su Mo go abroad and abandons Xia Ran Ran. Many years later, for the happiness of Su Mo, he destroys Shao Ming Zhe and Xia Ran Ran’s marriage.
