Summary: The drama follows Tang Fei, a member of the underground party of the Communist Party of China, who works undercover in the Japanese puppet regime. He unites with the Soviet Union to assassinate Japanese agents and uncover the Japanese conspiracy.
Plot Synoposis:
In 1941, Nazi Germany declares war on the Soviet Union, and Manchuria, which is adjacent to the Far East of the Soviet Union, could be attacked at any time.
Facing the danger of the enemy from the back, the Soviet Union’s Far East Intelligence Agency decides to implement a secret plan code-named “On Protracted War”.
Tang Fei, a member of the Communist Party of China, was instructed to execute the secret plan and invade Colonel Vajim.
At the Security Bureau, he meets Chief Cai Meng, an anti-Japanese democrat who had infiltrated because of national and family hatred.
In the Security Bureau, Tang Fei, with his bravery and agility, gains the Soviet’s trust and becomes an important member of the Security Bureau.
But a spy for the Far East Intelligence Bureau causes Tang Fei to fall into a trap and expose himself. Luckily Tang Fei is still able to complete the impossible “On Protracted War” plan.
The CPSU general decides to exchange Tang Fei with an important Japanese spy, but Tang Fei believes that he had completed the task and was unwilling to pay an unnecessary price for the organization.
At the moment of exchange, he jumps off the cliff. Tang Fei’s sense of self-sacrifice moves Cai Meng. At the end of World War II, in the seaside sanatorium, Tang Fei’s first sight when he opens his eyes is Cai Meng in the morning light.

The chief of the criminal section of the Linhe Police Department, a very happy policeman but suffers from stuttering, whose real identity is part of the underground Communist party.
Su Qing 苏青 as Cai Meng 蔡梦
Section Chief of Linhe Police Department. She is charming and beautiful, and wins the appreciation of the Japanese boss Fukuhara. There is a delicate relationship between Tang Fei and her.
