Plot Synopsis:
Established in the 1930s, Zhongfu Company is the first batch of state-owned enterprises in New China. After the reform and opening up, it grows into a comprehensive central enterprise group.
As Zhongfu Company is about to usher in its 80th birthday, Jingzhou Zhongfu, a subsidiary company, falls in a huge predicament. Zhongfu Chairman Lin Man Jiang sends Qi Ben An to Jingzhou to help the company get out of trouble.
After Qi Ben An takes office, he finds that the problems of Jingzhou Zhongfu come from the changes in the market environment as well as from his own management problems.
On one hand, he wants to unite the cadres and the masses such as Shi Hong Xing and Niu Jun Jie to resolve the original contradictions between them. His goal is to straighten out the internal relations of the enterprise, and reorganize the company.
On the other hand, he must also win the support of the secretary of the municipal party committee and handle the relationship between the central enterprise and the local government.
In this process, Qi Ben’an does not change his mind and unswervingly follows the path of civilized development with production development and good ecology. He finally brings Jingzhou Zhongfu out of the predicament, and also accumulates useful experience for the reform of state-owned enterprises and the transformation and development of resource-based cities.
