Plot Synopsis:
The drama is a spinoff from Eternal Love – Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms) and based on the book with the same name. It follows the love story of Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua over many years and lifetimes.

Plot Details:

Qing Qiu Emperor, Bai Feng Jiu, was attacked by a monster while practicing in the mountains. She was rescued by Dong Hua Emperor and never forgot it. In order to repay him, she followed Dong Hua to fight against demons. In her time spent with Dong Hua, she realized her feelings of gratitude had turned into feelings of love. But, Dong Hua has forgotten what love is, after battling against evil for thousands of years.

To protect Feng Jiu, Dong Hua sends her to the human world. In the process, her friends die while protecting her. Feng Jiu goes on a quest to find the legendary fairy fruit that can rise people from the dead. She enters the dreamworld of A Lan Ruo, Princess of the Winged Tribe, and must relive A Lan Ruo’s life.

During Dong Hua’s trial, he rescues Feng Jiu and finds he has falling in love with her. They prepare to get married but Dong Hua misses the wedding when he goes to save Princess Ji Heng. Brokenhearted, Feng Jiu leaves for the human world by herself and gives birth to their son, Bai Gun Gun.

At this time, Dong Hua’s injuries worsen and his life is at risk. He has no choice but to bury his love for Feng Jiu and turn half his heart into a glazed ring that will protect her. Realizing his feelings for her, Feng Jiu rushes to help Dong Hua on the battlefield, defeating the enemy and restoring peace in the world. In the end, justice won against evil. Feng Jiu falls into a deep sleep due to serious injuries and Dong Hua reunites with his son.

YES omg Pillowbook is finally airing! I’ve been waiting and waiting and the drama kept on getting pushed back but now we can all binge on Feng Jiu and Dong Hua’s love. Everything looks beautiful in the trailer – from the sets, to costume, to makeup. Dilraba looks beautiful and Dong Hua’s eyes are ever so dreamy. Their deep stares at one another is making me squeal. I am definitely preparing to cry a lot, as there will be lots of heartbreak and misunderstanding between the two of them. I’m literally screaming inside, can’t believe this is airing and we get this gem for end of January!! Also, Bai Gun Gun is just the cutest little boy, with that long white hair. Who else is ready to watch Pillowbook?

Dilireba 迪丽热巴 as Bai Feng Jiu 白凤九
The only nine-tailed red fox in all kingdoms, she is born with an anemone flower birthmark. She was born in September and was named Feng Jiu because of it. She is the kingdom’s second most beautiful and will be Emperor of Qing Qiu. Feng Jiu follows Dong Hua for over 2000 years, experiencing love and loss.

Gao Wei Guang 高伟光 as Dong Hua 东华
Born in Cangling, Bihai, he took two random characters and made them his name. His eyes are cold and steel-like, wears a glorious purple, and has silver hair like the snow. Dong Hua was born in the ancient flood era and is considered an ancient deity. He experiences love and hate with Feng Jiu over three lifetimes.

Supporting Characters:

Chen Chu He 陈楚河 as Zhe Yan 折颜
The first phoenix in all kingdoms, he has left the happenings of the Three Realms to reside and guard the Peach Blossoms. Zhe Yan is great at making wine, has good medical skills, and has many talents. He is an elder to Qing Qiu Emperor Bai Qian (Feng Jiu’s aunt) and is her close friend, teacher, and mentor.

Guo Pin Chao 郭品超 as Su Mo Ye 苏陌叶
A Lan Ruo’s teacher and the Second Prince of the West Sea. His mother is the Queen of Snakes. He is entrusted by Lian Song to find the true cause of A Lan Ruo’s death. He is good friends with Lian Song and a confidante to Bai Zhen. Mo ye has a one sided love for A Lan Ruo and in her dream becomes good friends with Feng Jiu.

Liu Yue Fei 刘玥霏 as Ji Heng 姬蘅
The eldest princess of the Demon Tribe, she is also known as Hua Zi Yan and is a virtuous lady. During the floods, Dong Hua helped her family and her father entrusted her to Dong Hua before his death. Ji Heng follows Dong Hua and falls in love with him. Her love grows to be dark, greedy, and filled with evil. She causes the misunderstanding between Feng Jiu and Dong Hua on their wedding day.

Liu Rui Lin 刘芮麟 as Yan Chi Wu 燕池悟
The youngest of the seven Demon Lords. He is arrogant, youthful, and acts carelessly. Feng Jiu becomes his best friend and confidante and at one point Dong Hua misunderstood the two of them. He is deeply in love with Ji Heng and thinks of Dong Hua as his love rival, always calling him an “ice face”.

Wang Xiao 王骁 as Si Ming 司命
A god in charge of mortal life. He loves to gossip and is Feng Jiu’s close friend. He once sent Feng Jiu to Tai Chen Palace for personal gain but saved Feng Jiu when she had serious injuries. Si Ming understands the pain and hardship Feng Jiu faces in her pursuit of Dong Hua.

Li Dong Heng 李东恒 as Lian Song 连宋
The Heaven Emperor’s third son, a Water Emperor, Ye Hua’s third uncle and friend of Dong Hua. He always holds a fan, is a low-key person and has a great personality. Lian Song is considered a playboy and falls for Cheng Yu.

Yuan Yu Xuan 袁雨萱 as Cheng Yu 成玉
A goddess who ascended to heaven from the human realm. The Heaven Emperor bestowed on her the title of Yuan Jun.

Huang Jun Jie 黄俊捷 as Bai Zhen 白真
The fourth son of Emperor Bai Zhi, uncle to Feng Jiu. He loves win and inviting friends to drink, is easygoing and free spirited, loves to travel all over the world. His life goal is to do everything with Zhe Yan.

Zhang Ming Can 张茗灿 as A Li 阿离
Bai Qian and Ye Hua’s son.

Kou Yun Hao 寇耘豪 as Bai Gun Gun 白滚滚
Feng Jiu and Dong Hua’s son.
